Have you been noticing quite a few celebs sporting a big red clown nose lately on your various social media feeds? You might have been wondering why someone like Kim Kardashian is showing off her big red nose. All of these folks are part of a campaign to bring attention to the need for relief for kids in poverty across the globe. Red Nose Day began in the U.K., sponsored by Comic Relief U.K. which began as a result of the 1985 Live Aid broadcast. Every other year they hold an event called Red Nose Day, a comic way to bring attention to the plight of children living in poverty. Now it is coming to the U.S. with a special show on NBC showing tonight.

Red Nose Day On NBC

It is no coincidence that NBC executive Paul Telegdy came to the network after spending time working at BBC, the original home of Red Nose Day. While at BBC he saw firsthand just how powerful the event could be. He knew that Americans were legendary when it comes to their generosity and wanted to bring the event across the Atlantic. He also knew that a live event of this nature would be good for NBC. So this wild hilarious event will be hosted across the nation and presented live tonight.

Making Laughter The Best Medicine

The challenge of Red Nose Day is to do something funny to raise money to fight child poverty. Anyone can participate, and the challenge is now being met not only here in the U.S. but in the U.K., Finland, Germany and Iceland. So take up the challenge of Red Nose Day. Watch tonight to find out how you can be part of the solution.
