Adam Corolla's parenting tips

He may be a world famous stand-up comedian and podcaster, but when asked he will admit that Adam Corolla’s parenting tips in his latest book are based on his little daughter’s advice. While the rest of the world pays cold hard cash to listen to the antics and opinions of Corolla, his daughter is telling him “Daddy Stop Talking.” And that, he says, is exactly why parents should learn to take his parenting tips seriously. Or at least as seriously as any of us are about to take Adam Corolla’s parenting tips when we know him primarily as the host of Loveline.

Why Adam Corolla’s Parenting Tips Make Sense

While many parents may have doubts that someone with Corolla’s credentials can give us good parenting tips, much of what he says in the book actually makes good sense. As an example, he talks about how it is useless to try and negotiate with your kids. This is a common tactic of today’s parents and Corolla talks in the book about the need to simply make the rules and stick to them. In a recent interview on CBS This Morning he told parents to say no if the answer is no. But if he can’t get his own daughter to listen to him, how are we supposed to be able to get our own kids to hear us?

Daddy Stop Talking

The title comes from his daughter’s comment when he was trying to tell her something, which he admits is often difficult. In fact, his reason for writing the book is to try and part with some of the wisdom his daughter doesn’t want to hear. “If my kids aren’t going to listen,” he tells CBS, “at least I will put it down in a book and somebody else’s kids can listen.”
